SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT

"The Business Division (BD) Radio Reconnaissance Software (RRS) provides the software platform for the PLATH Group's (radio) reconnaissance systems. The BD consists of the Business Unit (BU) in Hamburg and the BU in Cyprus. Our main product is ICAS, the Intelligence Control and Analysis Solution. ICAS reliably orchestrates the cooperation of all system components. Our software inspires our customers and enables them to work with maximum efficiency. We also develop associated tools such as COPIN, RKB and other software in the field of radio intelligence.

We program in the JAVA and C++ languages. We have been successfully using Scrum in a scaled process for years. Direct and close cooperation with Quality Assurance in the Scrum teams and DevOps for "Continuous Integration" are important cornerstones of our approach.

HARDWARE DEVELOPMENT

"For our customized system solutions, we draw on the entire range of sensor technology on the market - from high-end sensors to simple receivers for C-ESM solutions. This means we always offer the best solution for the respective operational application. Our systems have a modular design and are already equipped with a wide range of drivers and interfaces for various sensors and existing systems from different manufacturers. This enables us not only to build almost any system for our customers from scratch, but also to supplement and expand it accordingly.

Our systems and solutions based on high-quality sensor technology are in use worldwide. The Sensors division is complemented operationally by Product Management, Project Management and Product Sales, which also serves the needs of third parties. With our development expertise, we also provide cross-departmental advice to Quality Assurance, Customer Services and Project Management.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

The Quality Assurance department takes care of the planning and coordination of quality assurance measures relating to our solutions and products. We take on all tasks, from test management and agile testing to classic software testing. Quality Assurance is divided into two teams, which support both internal hardware and software developments as well as customer projects: Our Customer QA is responsible for the classic software and hardware tests, as well as the final acceptance tests on site at the customer's premises. Development QA, on the other hand, is already directly involved in the agile software development process as part of the agile teams. The basic principle of both teams is the view of quality assurance as a joint interdisciplinary team task.


Quality Assurance is staffed by colleagues who have a high level of technological understanding and strong social skills and who cannot stop questioning and scrutinizing things over and over again.

Customer Service

The task of Customer Service is to ensure technical project planning, in which we play a key role in customer projects. We provide technical project management for our customers and are responsible for system integration.

In addition, we maintain the availability of the PLATH systems supplied throughout their entire life cycle. By integrating, installing and commissioning our systems, we provide the expertise for 1st and 2nd level support during the operating phase.

Solution Design

In the Solution Design department, we design solutions for our S&I customers. As the interface between sales/pre-sales and technology, we support our systems throughout their entire life cycle - from the preparation of the offer, through the project phase, to the service phase. In doing so, we ensure the feasibility of the S&I solutions, taking into account requirements, technology, platform and costs.

Our core activities include

  • Analysing customer requirements,
  • specification and selection of suitable solution components as well as the creation of comprehensive system architectures in compliance with methodological standards,
  • Creating concepts for integrating our systems on different platforms on land, in the air or in the water,
  • Consideration of ILS aspects and creation of corresponding concepts.

Project Management

Project Management is responsible for the organization and execution of our system projects. Key words in this area are in scope, in time and in budget.

We take on customer orders from Sales and manage the complex customer projects from start to finish and the subsequent handover to Customer Services.

This means that our project managers act as an organizing and controlling central interface for all project participants and customers and are responsible for the design of the systems, the compilation of the systems, configuration, testing, delivery and handover. Depending on the scope of the project, several projects may be the responsibility of one colleague or the project may be managed jointly by several Project Managers.

The team working in this area is made up of real organizational talents with multi-tasking skills, who coordinate both customers and departments involved in the project with a high level of technical understanding and a sure instinct. Sales & Presales

The distribution of PLATH S&I and the coordination of the PLATH Group's distribution is our business. This means that we are responsible for the business development of the entire company, so to speak. Our actions are based on the sales strategy, which in turn is aligned with the corporate strategy. Our sales teams differ from one another in terms of their international customer acquisition, support and country focus.

What all teams have in common is that every sales colleague sees themselves as an entrepreneur within the company and therefore acts with entrepreneurial skill and corresponding responsibility.

If you are fascinated by high-end technology and products that require explanation and have the necessary skills in dealing with customers, we should get to know each other and drive the PLATH Group's business development forward together.

We are supported by our presales colleagues, who take care of all issues relating to the preparation of quotations and the presentation of system concepts. In close coordination with the sales and marketing teams, we develop customized technical solutions and relevant marketing documents, which are successfully presented at trade fairs around the world.

Finance and Accounting

In the Accounting department, we post and pay all incoming invoices from our suppliers and the travel expenses of all employees, making an essential contribution to smooth internal and external collaboration. We also prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and are responsible for booking all other business transactions.

The Controlling department provides the basis for business decisions at all levels. Our tasks can be roughly divided into the areas of projects, corporate planning, sales, products and subsidiaries.

We prepare budgets, regular reports and evaluations, carry out projections, calculate offers and products, but are also available for special inquiries of any kind if required. One of our core tasks is corporate planning - in this context, we prepare a budget before the start of the financial year and a projection on a quarterly basis. In addition, we see ourselves as an interface between the departments and feel responsible for the flow of goods values in our ERP system proAlpha.

Analysts who are passionate about and confident with figures and who don't "let themselves be bullied" are in good hands in our Finance department.

Human Ressources

"The Human Resources department stands for more than just the typical handling of issues that arise, from A for working hours to Z for references. Our Human Resources managers look after the managers and colleagues in specific areas of the company in all HR processes and issues that arise. As part of personnel development, we support and advise all colleagues on their individual career paths at PLATH. We provide all the necessary tools, such as personal development plans, and support the planning and implementation of important measures such as further education, training and coaching.

In order to remain the market expert for high-end technologies, we methodically support our divisions in constantly optimizing products and processes as part of change processes. With this in mind, we accompany and moderate workshops and support the divisions and departments with goal-oriented advice.

We aim to attract and recruit the best talent. We are therefore continuously expanding our employer branding strategy. We use every opportunity to inspire and attract experts and junior staff to our company. We do this by actively shaping a positive working atmosphere and environment and by creating attractive benefits and offers for our colleagues. IT

As an IT service provider for administration, security, network technology and support, CYPP GmbH assists our PLATH colleagues when the IT in the workplace is not doing what it should. We advise on new software and hardware, take care of mobility solutions, telephone systems and internet security, and constantly maintain and develop the central IT infrastructure.

The IT department is staffed by technology enthusiasts who are happy to assist their colleagues at PLATH with all IT-related issues.

 

 

Legal and Export Control

The Legal & Export Control department is responsible for the legal and procedural examination and structuring of legal issues relating to the relevant facts, documents, contracts and processes for foreign trade law that are necessary in connection with the sale, production and delivery of our products. This includes comprehensive clarification and independent analysis of the relevant facts, the examination of legal issues and the development and evaluation of possible solutions as consultants for all PLATH departments. We draw up specific recommendations for action for our management, draft all purchase, supply and agency agreements and represent PLATH in and out of court disputes. In our Legal & Export Control division, you will find lawyers who are looking for a special challenge and are reluctant to settle for self-employment or working in a law firm.

 

 

Logistics

The Logistics department processes orders from A for incoming orders to Z for customs clearance and advises our other departments on bank guarantees, letters of credit, transportation options and country regulations, among other things. Our certification as an Authorized Economic Operator requires special attention from us. Our colleagues therefore receive training on all topics relating to logistics and are in regular contact with the customs office, as compliant customs clearance is important to us.

Our team is made up of colleagues whose eyes never miss a thing, who keep track of everything and have the right instincts as an interface to various departments and external partners.

MARKETING

The Marketing department is responsible for the consistent orientation and implementation of all our internal and external corporate communications. We look at the needs of the market and our target groups and combine the resulting communication approaches into a marketing strategy.

A key element of our internal communication is our intranet. On the one hand, we want to make our corporate culture visible and, on the other, provide an insight into our corporate strategy and the associated internal processes. Our intranet also serves as a platform for collaborative knowledge management and profitable knowledge transfer. We also focus on the various facets of employer branding.

We define external communication as all communication measures that leave our company on the basis of our corporate design and corporate image. This includes, for example, all printed materials (brochures, flyers, data sheets, stationery, business cards, etc.), our websites, advertisements, press releases, advertising materials and social media posts. We are also responsible for organizing national and international trade fairs and events.

Our team is made up of colleagues who want to live out their creativity and organizational talent and feel comfortable on the international stage.

PROCUREMENT

The procurement department is responsible for the company's procurement strategy, taking into account the safeguarding of the supply chain. Due to the complex and highly technical requirements of the products for our customer systems, we work with our suppliers in a spirit of trust and partnership.

Customer requirements for our systems are constantly changing in line with technical developments. We work closely with our colleagues from the Presales, Product Management and Project Management departments as well as Development to find the best possible solutions. The challenge we face of finding reliable, flexible, creative and competent partners, agreeing framework conditions for cooperation and negotiating the best price for the required quality makes our work very varied.

In our Procurement department you will meet versatile personalities: Patient persistence meets strong negotiating skills and a good feel for technical products.

Travel Management

Travel Management supports our travelling colleagues with visa procurement, the organisation of travel and payment methods and travel insurance. We also contribute to comfortable and safe travel by training travellers.

Our Travel Management team is made up of colleagues who are happy to handle many processes at the same time, working with great care and a strong focus on service.
